When I first launch a new custom blog for a client or set up a client with social media websites they are sometimes hesitant to start posting because they feel they are “talking to themselves” and get discouraged.  When you first launch your new blog you may not have many people reading, but it is important to keep posting the information you want them to have.  Over time your readership or ‘fans’ will grow, it just takes some faith.
It is very similar to a new band playing their first gigs. They still play the songs whether they have 10 people in the audience or 10,000.  We all have those times when we get too busy to post often (as is my case recently). It is important to get back on track when you can, but never let a “I don’t have enough readers so it isn’t worth it yet” attitude keep you from posting. They will never come if there is nothing to read.  So keep on posting and keep in mind that your ‘archived’ posts will still be found weeks, months or years later as well.
